چکیده
Abstract Background Preoperative posterior tilt is a risk factor for fixation failure in femoral neck fractures. This study aimed to evaluate the configuration of anterior positioning screw proximal plating treatment retroverted fractures terms resisting tilt. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with who were fixed by from January 2014 August 2019. All divided into two groups according configuration: long-threaded (ALTS, n = 36) and normally short-threaded screws (NTS, 46). Baseline characteristics reviewed radiological clinical outcomes analyzed. Logistic regression analysis was used identify factors developing Results Age, gender, Garden classification, comminution, reduction quality showed no significant difference between groups. Increased lower ALTS group (3.2°, 2.1–4.3°) than that NTS (5.3°, 4.2–8.3°) ( p < 0.001), percentage people > 5° also (5, 13.9% vs. 24, 52.2%; 0.001). Femoral shortening (FNS) (3.1 (2.1–4.7) mm 4.3 (3.1–6.3) mm, 0.003), though not statistically when using 5 as cut-off value. Harris Hip Score higher (87.0, 84.0–90.0 82.0, 76.0–84.5; Postoperative complications including delayed union, nonunion, avascular necrosis comparable Multivariable identified comminution (OR 15.9, 95% CI 3.6–70.3, suboptimal 12.0, 2.6–56.1, 0.002), (reference: configuration) 21.9, 4.1–116.4, 0.001) Conclusions Configuration provides better resistance against Also, reduction, ALTS) are Trial registration The trial number ChiCTR2000039482 .

Subchondral screw fixation for femoral neck fractures.
We describe a method of internal fixation for femoral neck fractures which has been newly developed to reduce the frequency of early complications. Two cannulated screws are inserted in the axis of the femoral neck to reach into the subchondral bone of the femoral head. The screws are inserted over guide pins and the tip of the screw is self-tapping and designed to provide good anchorage in the...
متن کاملA comparative study of proximal femoral fracture fixation with proximal femoral nail and Dynamic hip screw & plating
Introduction: Trochanteric fractures are one of the commonest injuries sustained predominantly in patients over sixty years of age. They are three to four times more common in women than in men. These usually occur through bone affected by osteoporosis; trivial fall being the most common mechanism of injury [1]. Discussion: The goal of this study was to compare the functional outcomes of patien...
متن کاملMetformin Prevents Nonunion after Three-Cannulated-Screw Fixation in Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures: A Retrospective Study
Patients aged from 40 to 60 with displaced fractures of the femoral neck (Garden III or IV) who received fixation with three cannulated screws from January 2005 to December 2012 were evaluated retrospectively for the development of nonunion. Plasma HbA1C, a marker for long-term plasma glucose level, anti-T2DM medication, and other potential risk factors were recorded for the purpose of this stu...
متن کاملType II Intertrochanteric Fractures: Proximal Femoral Nailing (PFN) Versus Dynamic Hip Screw(DHS)
Background: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to low-energy trauma like simple falls. Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating intertrochanteric fractures by many. Not many studies compare the DHS with Proximal femoral nail (PFN), in Type II intertrochanteri...
متن کاملBilateral Simultaneous Femoral Neck and Shafts Fractures – A Case Report
Simultaneous fractures of the femoral neck and shaft are not common injuries, though they cannot be considered rare. Herein, we report our experience with a patient with bilateral occurance of this injury. Up to the best of our knowkedge this is the first case reported in literature in which correct diagnosis was made initially. Both femurs were fixed using broad 4.5 mm dynamic compression pl...
